The Automatic Ballistic Tracking System is an MSCCS/MMP configuration specifically designed for ballistic tests. With ABTS the Test Team can easily plan, simulate, control and manage the ballistic tests. In fact, the system is a real-time command and control station with a simple and efficient Graphical User Interface (GUI) that speeds up the operations and improves the user and tactical map interaction.
ABTS acquires and manages the real-time TSPI data flows of radars, Electro-Optical tracking Sensors and Point of Impact Detection Systems, meanwhile produces a visual output of the current operations through advanced data fusion algorithms.
The system embodies also two subsystems:
The ABTS recording subsystem which stores data and replays previously recorded missions
The ABTS post processing subsystem which performs the analysis on recorded data
The software of the Automatic Ballistic Tracking System is part of the Mission Management Platform, NT-MMP suite.
The scalable architecture of the ABTS design allows extensions and upgrades. Indeed, the hardware components are transportable and rack-mounted, likewise the MMP software, also conceived with libraries and building blocks. As a result, the system permits a smooth integration of additional features and subsystems.
ABTS is a distributed system deployed in three main units:
The Processing Unit which manages and processes the real-time tasks
The Control Unit that allows to monitor and command the ABTS thru the GUI
The Monitoring Unit, an additional GUI subsystem to monitor the processing system and tracking data
